Welcome to February – the month when the language of the heart is everywhere!!
As it turns out, there is very good reason why there is so much heart in our language; not just in February but all year long. For example:
- Full of heart
- Broken heart
There are many more of these colloquialisms that I am sure you can think of as well. Our language always reflects something that is true about our reality and heart-centered language is no different.
Getting to the heart of the matter
Did you know that in 1991 scientists discovered that the heart has its own “little brain” or “intrinsic cardiac nervous system?” This “heart brain” is composed of approximately 40,000 neurons that are similar to the neurons in the brain. However, our heart neurons think, feel and experience differently than the neurons in the brain. In other words, our heart has an intelligence all its own. Even more interesting is that our heart’s intelligence has a very powerful influence over how we think, feel, and ultimately ~ how we behave.
Even more recently scientists have learned how to create a coherent system between the heart and the brain and that when we do that we can produce physiological coherence resulting in incredible increases in cognitive performance, athletic performance, sleep, and even the effective functioning of our immune system.
Following our heart
For the past year; we at InteraWorks have been exploring this new science as these developments have led us to once again to revise and expand our understanding of human performance, productivity and potential. We believe the integration of the science of the heart is a game-changer. After all, the practices are simple and effective, the results are consistent and measurable. After such a challenging year, this is heartening news indeed. Now we are pleased to be able to offer this science in a new course to our InteraWorks Community.
This is a 2-hour preview of a new program InteraWorks will be adding to our Learner Portfolio later this spring. We will explore some surprising and easy to use research-based tools to build your capacity for improved resilience and optimizing performance. It will do your heart (mind and body) good!
This session is currently closed, but we are working on the backend to plan another one! If you’d like to sign up for the waiting list, please click on the link below and enter your information in the contact box.
