Communities make us stronger, safer, and more connected. Imagine the impact we could create if we all got involved in bettering our communities. The question for many is, “How do I get involved?”
Over the course of the last year, I have been reminded that impact doesn’t start with something big or dramatic – it starts with one simple conversation.
A Story of Partnership
In late 2019, we connected with an alumnus of one of our InteraWorks programs who had started in a new role at an organization called Endeavors. Endeavors is an extraordinary nonprofit that makes a significant impact in countless communities throughout the United States.
As we’ve gotten to know them, we have learned how they work selflessly with the utmost heart, passion, and commitment to providing innovative services for Veterans, people with disabilities, survivors of disasters, migrants, children, and more. Their work is awe-inspiring, transformative, life-changing, and lifesaving.
As the COVID 19 pandemic hit, it wasn’t clear how we could help, so we hopped on a call and had a conversation. By connecting and working together, we uncovered that the best way to help was through the Best Year Yet Foundation. This was a perfect fit for our corporate foundation’s mission to serve those who serve our communities.
Impact and Results
Throughout 2021 we partnered to provide our entire portfolio to Endeavors employees. Given the nature and challenges of working in the crisis environment, these programs bolstered their efforts to enhance resilience, navigate conflict, tackle difficult conversations, increase capacity, and create deeper levels of engagement to focus on the things (and people) that matter most.
None of this would have been possible without one simple conversation that has developed into an ongoing partnership – one that has made a tremendous impact, deepened relationships, and reached into a community far beyond what we thought possible at the outset.
We are grateful for Endeavors, their tireless commitment to others, and the ripple effect they create, beginning with the lives they touch in our communities, and which expands to the lives those individuals touch throughout the world.
