Global learning leader InteraWorks – through its nonprofit arm the Best Year Yet Foundation – just completed the pilot of its groundbreaking new leadership development program with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department. With additional funding and support from the The Nashville Police + Public Safety Alliance, the ASPIRE Leadership Institute provided a multi-layered leadership development experience to 50 participants, which included a mix of sworn and civilian employees.
“Leadership development is vital for a police department to be as effective as possible,” said John Drake, Chief of the Metro Nashville Police Department. “We worked closely with the Alliance and InteraWorks to create the ASPIRE Leadership Institute because being a good officer involves much more than your policing skills – it’s your ability to inspire others around you, think strategically and build trust. ASPIRE gives our team confidence in those abilities and more. We look forward to the next classes that will go through this program.”
The program is scheduled to grow over the next two years, with 120 participants already lined up for 2026.
